Amanta Scott is the Artistic Director, Lead Artist and co-founder of Leading Tone Arts Productions. She is a multi-faceted visual artist, musician and director.
Critically acclaimed as 'cutting edge', 'ground breaking' and 'strikingly innovative', Amanta Scott has exhibited and performed extensively in art galleries, museums, theatres, dance, concert venues and festivals throughout Asia and North America.

Jessica Runge

Jessica Runge recently featured in Amanta Scott's workshop production of Shellshock.
Jessica lives in Toronto. She began dancing at the age of five and completed her professional training as a scholarship student at The School of Toronto Dance Theatre. A member of Toronto Dance Theatre from 1998 through 2006, Ms. Runge also enjoys a successful career as a freelance dance interpreter, choreographer, and teacher. She has toured nationally and internationally performing works of such acclaimed Canadian choreographers as Peggy Baker, Peter Chin, Kim Frank, and Christopher House. Her own works have been presented in many venues in Toronto and elsewhere in Canada, including the outdoor stage at the Canada Dance Festival.

She has been commissioned to create dances that have toured internationally, as well as site-specific works for such spectacular settings as a twelve metre high outdoor waterfall in downtown Toronto. Ms. Runge is a co-winner of the 2005 K.M. Hunter Artists Award for Dance, and she has been nominated for three Dora Mavor Moore awards for her outstanding performances of, and choreography for new dance premieres. From 1994 - 2004, Ms. Runge was a co-artistic director of Series 8:08, a Toronto-based producer of innovative dance workshops and performances.

Anne-Marie Hood
|
Anne-Marie Hood recently featured in Amanta Scott's workshop production of Shellshock.
Anne-Marie has studied dance and music at a variety of institutions such as the Royal Conservatory of Music, Saskatchewan School Of The Arts and York University, where she received an Honours degree in dance in 1988.
She has worked as a dance instructor at The Backstreet Theatre Company, Ballet Creole and Jarvis Collegiate Institute. Anne-Marie's talents have been demonstrated through her work in choreography, dance performances, theatre and music composition.

As a choreographer, she has worked on Earth Drum II, A Crack In The Ice and We Witness. She has performed with many dance companies which include COBA: Collective Of Black Artists, Ballet Creole and Flaming Dono Dance and Drum Ensemble. She has also starred in several theatre performances such as Cinderella of the Sun, Peter Pan and Fatima's Moods. Anne-Marie's work as a dancer, choreographer and composer has been presented at various Toronto venues including the DuMaurier Theatre Centre, The Theatre Centre, 7a11d, rock paper sistaz and fFIDA.

Norma Araiza

Norma Araiza recently featured in Amanta Scott's workshop production of Shellshock.
Norma Araiza is a Yaqui/Mexican performer, choreographer, and instructor living in Toronto. Norma works in different disciplines within the arts blending dance, theatre, vocals, percussion, and Tai Chi Chuan with cultural and traditional themes in a contemporary context. Norma has studied with international artists such as Jerzy Grotowski, Eugenio Barba, Natsu Nakajima, Tascabile di Bergamo, Kei Takei and Pol Pelletier.
Norma is the artistic director of Tolmec Dance Theatre and co-artistic director of NorteSur Collective and Colibri Collective. Her work has been presented in Toronto, Montreal, Hungary, California, and throughout Mexico.

Nancy Tokatlidis
|
Nancy Tokatlidis recently featured in Amanta Scott's workshop production of Shellshock.
Nancy runs the very popular restaurant Crème de la Crème. In addition to performing, Nancy was also responsible for washing and providing the many hundreds of eggshells which featured in Shellshock! In her spare time Nancy is a salsa dancer, actor, artist and comedienne.

Randolph Croft
|
Randolph Croft is a personal chef and marketing consultant currently living in Toronto. He has been instrumental in helping Amanta Scott re-think and re-design the Leading Tone website. He publishes innovative receipes on several web-based cooking forums.

David Tomlinson is a former collaborator and Co-Artistic Director of Leading Tone Arts Productions from 1991 - 2005.
After many years of globe-trotting and working with Amanta, David has moved on: having decided to pursue a career in Real Estate with assorted percussion gigs on the side. No doubt he'll soon be drumming up a booming business!

Philip Drube
|
Philip Drube is a dancer and choreographer presently living in Toronto. He was insightful as a choreographic consultant for Amanta Scott's work Arising Phoenix, and assisted in Leading Tone Arts Productions' workshop Found Sounds Moving presented at the Art Gallery of Algoma in 2005.

Fiona Griffiths
|
Fiona featured in Amanta Scott's early work Virago Project. In fact, it was she who first suggested the word "virago" in response to Amanta's idea for a sculpture of a strong powerful woman. Her enthusiasm and support for this project was tremendous.
Fiona has worked as movement coach for Mump & Smoot since their inception. With a MFA in Creative Process and a previous life as a nurse, Fiona has created a body of physical work that encompasses muscular and skeletal concepts as well as using the body as a pathway into the unconscious to reawaken the images that transform our understanding of ourselves and the world around us. Fiona has an extensive background in dance, theatre, clown, and video and has performed her own work internationally. She has taught at the theatre graduate programs of York and Yale Universities and coaches movement and source work with clowns and actors.
