KINABALU, a dragon, lived on top of Mount Kinabalu in Borneo and owned a huge pearl. The Chinese Emperor heard about this pearl and sent his men to get it. Kinabalu killed all but a few who escaped to China. The Emperor sent his two sons Wee Ping and Wee San to fetch the pearl.
Wee San devised a plan to steal the pearl. When Kinabalu was hunting, Wee San flew up to the lair on a large kite, and substituted an imitation pearl. Upon Kinabalu's return, he noticed the switch, and made chase after the Chinese ships. Wee San fired a cannon ball at the dragon who thought it was the pearl, Kinabalu swallowed the cannon ball and died.
Wee Ping lied and claimed to have fetched pearl, he wanted to keep it for himself. Wee San not wanting trouble with his brother, left China and became the ruler of Brunei in Borneo. He was happy; however, Wee Ping, in lying, brought sadness upon himself.
