Intermediate (9& 10) Level Activity #4
Divide the class into groups. Each group is to take a song with
which they are familiar and write new words that describe a resource
being wasted and suggestions for reduction of the waste. (Pop
tunes are O.K. but students have better luck with simple folk
tunes.) In addition, each group should develop an accompaniment
for their song using non-pitched percussion instruments or found
instruments. Each group should develop a movement to add visual
interest to their song. After rehearsal, each group should present
their new song to the whole group.
